What is the Young Millionaires Program?

The Young Millionaires Program is a summer business and entrepreneurship program for youth aged 9 to 16 years. The program is designed to assist youth to discover more about the world of business and help them get started in a business of their own.

Through a series of adventure workshops, participants will develop basic business skills including record keeping, marketing, customer service and public speaking skills. Workshops are designed to promote a healthy learning and interactive atmosphere.

Upon completion of the adventure workshops, participants may then submit a business plan for the opportunity to receive a non-repayable grant in exchange for their cooperation and participation in the program. Sole proprietorships can receive a maximum of $100, while partnerships can receive up to $150. This non-repayable grant is to be used to start up the participant’s business.

The Young Millionaires Program will attempt to:

  • Teach youth important business and life skills
  • Develop positive self-esteem and confidence in the participants
  • Link youth with experienced community leaders
  • Potentially allow youth to own and operate their own business
